The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) is set to expand across all London boroughs from 29th August 2023, bringing significant changes to vehicle emissions standards in London. This expansion aims to further improve air quality and reduce pollution levels in the city.

If your vehicle doesn't meet the ULEZ emissions standards and isn't exempt, you face a daily charge of £12.50 to drive within the zone. To find our if your vehicle meets ULEZ emission standards visit Transport for London (TfL).

To encourage compliance with the new regulations, London residents whose vehicles do not meet the ULEZ emissions standards can apply for a grant payment. Successful applicants could receive a payment to scrap their non complaint vehicle or choose a lower payment plus one or two TfL Annual Bus & Tram passes.

Those who own cars can receive up to £2,000 for scrapping their vehicle, while motorcycle owners can receive up to £1,000. For wheelchair accessible vehicles there is a payment of £10,000 to scrap or £6,000 to retrofit to the ULEZ standards.

This initiative encourages individuals to transition towards cleaner and more environmentally friendly modes of transportation. By scrapping older vehicles that contribute significantly to air pollution, London residents can play a vital role in creating a greener and healthier city.

It's important to note that only individuals with vehicles failing to meet ULEZ emissions norms are eligible to apply for the grants.
